C&F 3-in-1 Nail Knot Pipe & Line Needle (CFA-11)

The 3-in-1 Nail Knot Pipe & Line Needle is a tool for tying needle knots between fly line and leader.

You thread the needle with the eye at the tip into the front of the fly line, then push it out, thread the thin part of the leader, pull out the needle and pull out the leader. You will then have 6-7cm to work with.The tube is laid with the opening pointing towards the tip of the fly line. Wrap the back end of the tab over the tip of the fly line and the tube. Push the rest of the rough part of the tab into the tube, take a tight grip around the needle knot, pull the tube away and tighten the needle knot. You now have a needle knot where the paw goes through the tip of the fly line and gets maximum energy transfer.

At one end of the needle there is a magnet, C&F's boxes are all made with slit foam where you push the fly out instead of pulling it loose. Slide it out with the tool and the fly stays on the magnet.
